How to Order

At A Fine Farewell, we want you to feel comfortable with what might otherwise be a difficult process. We work together with you to design a shroud that is elegant, personalized and meaningful for you.

Below is an outline of what's available, to help you get a feel for the colors and embellishments you like.

Pricing begins at $895 for the options detailed below. Custom designs are priced individually according to time and materials involved. (Shipping cost will vary with location.)

Shroud Components

There are four basic components to our shrouds: the carrier, cushion, sheath, and ribbon. See below for the colors and additional embellishments we can make available for your custom shroud.

Please note: Due to different monitor settings, colors may appear slightly different on screen.

Carrier Complete with carrying handles, the carrier supports the body and is made from sturdy, heavyweight canvas.
	Color Choices:	Black	Cream
Quilted Cushion Made from 100% linen, the cushion cradles the body. Each cushion comes with a custom quilted design. See below for examples of quilting.
	Color Choices:	Black	Wheat
Sheath Also made from 100% linen, in 5 radiant colors, this is the main garment and softly encloses the body.
	Color Choices:	Red clay	Ivory	Wheat
		Rich plum	Moss
Ribbon Available in 8 rich hues, the ribbon combines with the linen for an elegant color coordinated look.
	Color Choices:	Pine needle	Red clay	Dark chocolate
		Warm sienna	Azure blue	Sand beige
		White	Black

Optional Head Cradle

This is a quilted band with a soft cotton veil attached. It's a different option to cover the head and face. See below for examples of quilting.

Quilting Examples

Quilted Cushion: A simple, repeated design of your choosing is quilted into each cushion. (More intricate and elaborate quilted designs are available for an additional fee – see pricing below.) We will work with you to choose a meaningful quilting design for your shroud's cushion.

Head Cradle: If you choose to add a head cradle and veil to your shroud, we will work with you to choose a coordinating design for the quilted band.

Each quilted design is sewn to order and is therefore completely unique to your shroud. Below are a few examples of quilting patterns that have been requested:

Optional Hand Painting Examples

Increase the beauty, meaning, and one-of-a-kind nature of your shroud with custom hand painting for an additional fee (see pricing below). We use milk-based, biodegradable paints to add sustainable artistry to your shroud. We will work with your ideas to make the images a personal reflection. Below are a few possibilities to spark your imagination:
